Good LARP gear
« on: March 31, 2011, 01:09:20 PM »

Anyone know anywhere to get decent costume armor.  I'm looking for some "metal" shoulders, greaves, and gauntlets and the Google Machine hasn't been as helpful as it usually is.

I don't know if you are close to New Hope, PA, or not.  There used to be a garb store there on Main Street that had the occasional piece of armor.  However, it's been a while since I've been to New Hope personally, so I don't know if this place is still there.

Two online sources you might want to check out are Medieval Collectibles (www.medievalcollectibles.com) and Pearson's Renaissance Shoppe (www.pearsonsrenaissanceshoppe.com).  A long shot would be The Tudor Shoppe (www.tudorshoppe.com).

I've bought stuff from both Pearson's and The Tudor Shoppe, and their customer service has been pretty good in my experience.

I googled "knight armor" and found this was about the fourth on the list:

http://www.armorvenue.com/

Are you looking for costume quality or "real" armor.

If you are just looking for costume armor then you might try searching for theatrical supply companies.

Pillage, then burn.

Everything is air-droppable at least once.

A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head.

That which does not kill you has made a tactical error.

There is no "overkill".  There is only "Open Fire" and "Time to Reload!"
