[Avie]

The Manifestation known as Green sits on a plaid picnic blanket, somewhere between the Progenitor Stronghold and the Bazaar.  The Manifestation appears to be playing checkers against a purple and indigo rodent, vaguely reminiscent of a chipmunk.  A young girl sits with her back against the woman's side and seems to be playing with a datapad.  The girl's curls are shoved back from her face with a headband, revealing a lightly freckled face. 

Green is singing softly - to herself? to the chipmunk? to the girl?

"And this heartbreak world
Of just imagine
With its tired talk of better days
And this heartbreak world
Where nothing matters
Come on lets make this dream that's barely half awake come true"

Shamus suddenly appears laying down at the edge of the blanket looking into the sky
He to sings softly in his brogue of an accent
"They'll miss the taste of wanting you
Call out your name like I still do
But they never said a word thats true
And they only hold you down."

After that he just lays in silence very unobtrusive.

[Avie]

The little girl eyes him with a wise violet gaze and nods a civil hello.  Good manners prevent her from assaulting the newcomer with questions and queries - if he wants to lay quietly and cloud watch, she'll watch him quietly.  His sudden appearance doesn't seem to have bothered her in the least. 

Green gives him a sideways smile and offers a wink in greeting.

"Shamus, this is Ettie.  Ettie, this is Shamus, the new head of Lightfoot."

[TheonlyShamus]

*Shamus will raise his hand and wave at Ettie*

"Nice to meet ya love, saw the picnic hope ya don't mind me joining thought it was a nice place to spend time for a bit."

[Avie]

The little one glances at Green, who nods either reassurance or permission before she speaks.

"I think it's a lovely place to spend time.  Would you like a cookie?"

She reaches into her coveralls and produces a chocolate chip cookie that would make Cutthroat proud.

"thank you I would love one"

Shamus will then role over and prop himself up to accept the cookie

[Avie]

The girl grins and passes two to Shamus and offers two to Green.  When Green shakes her head, the girl takes a dainty nibble from one.

"One for each hand!" she chirps.

"You seem very nice for a Lightfoot." She looks him up and down, and has the good grace to blush a little when Green clucks at her.  "I mean, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Shamus chuckles at etties comment

"that's because I'm not your normal kinda lightfoot ettie, and it's a pleasure to meet ya to"

He will then break a small piece of cookie off and pop it in his mouth

"I think this is about the only thing Im able to eat while in the nexus"

[Avie]

"Really?!?  But..." the redhead looks appalled. "What about carrots? Or ice cream? Or saganaki? or inarizushi? Or paella? or shortcake? or pierogi? or gagootz?"

Her nose wrinkles. "Is it because you don't think you need to eat as an Avatar, so you don't or does it make you feel yucky?"  Her tone is full of innocent sympathy and concern.

[TheonlyShamus]

"the hunger hasn't been there just like the need for sleep. I can do it but get no real enjoyment out of it. I was always one I only slept and ate because my body told me to. Here because it's not nessicary to do it to survive then I can do better things in that time like lay here and enjoy the scenery and company."

[Avie]

"ah." she considers this quietly for several moments.  While she thinks, Green winks at Shamus over Ettie's head.  The Manifestation seems completely at rest and settled. 

When the little girl speaks again, she shoots a look at Green before beginning carefully.  "Both food and sleep are primal needs.  Daddy says so - that there's something deeply satisfying about settling into a nicely made bed, because our monkey brains like clean, sweet nests.  and good food grounds us out or lifts our spirits, because our monkey brains found joy in food and sorrow in famine."  She wrinkles her nose, thinking.  The words are coming slowly.  "So, if your monkey brain doesn't like sleep, does that mean it wasn't safe, or was there too much interesting stuff going on for your monkey brain to care about sleep? Were you a right dire pirate like Carlos?!?"  She perks at the thought, things making sense in her little brain.

[TheonlyShamus]

"Well Chi... Ettie.  My people did decend from Pirates.  The story is told that in the yester years the planet that I lived on had a nebula surrounding it.  This nebula had a narrow path that only the pirates knew how to navigate.  They would use the planets inside as a place to stash there hoards of treasure and prizes.   They stole everything they could get there hands on including people.  So these people along with the pirates that retired from there proffession, formed a society, and progressed into a civilization.  Now don't get me wrong I did sleep before i came to the nexus and ate to out of need.  But I guess just like my ancestors,  I have evolved to the next level and no longer require such things.  So you can say yes I am of pirate blood." *Shamus then gives a smile as he remembers his life*

[Avie]

He is rewarded with a sunny grin when he choses to call her Ettie instead of child.  She listens raptly and whispers "Star pirates? That is SO cool!"

[wcshoe]

In a brilliant flash of red light, about ten feet overhead, the Celestial Otter known as Cutthroat appears He is moving swiftly through the air, at first looking like he was launched (perhaps by a powerful foot), but rapidly controlling his plummet in a display of agility known only to a few gymnasts, martial artists, and otters. As he lands near the blanket, he gracefully rolls and somersaults upright, looking about for threats.

Seeing none, he nods nonchalantly to those present, and dusts himself off.

"Yes it is pretty cool"
