Auction Question...
« on: June 28, 2011, 12:35:35 AM »

I have a collection of display swords and other assorted weapons that I was thinking about bringing for the auction at Dexcon in (less than) two weeks.
I know there was a post about this before, I just can't seem to find it.
How would I go about doing this? Or is it just a bad idea?

Those types of items have been auctioned in the past so I don't think there will be a problem.

I'd suggest having the weapons boxed or otherwise secured. It will smooth any issues with our security team.

The form that needs to be submitted can be found in this thread:

There is no "overkill".  There is only "Open Fire" and "Time to Reload!"

Definitely keep them boxed.  Weapons are not allowed to be carried onto the con floor (Or any part of the hotel really) without being inspected by the crack security team.  Actual swords will not pass of course so keep them boxed up!  A zipped closed duffel bag will do as well as long as you cannot easily reach and grab one.  If you are taking them out to show someone (For official business only.)  Please let a security team member know before hand before taking them out.

yeah... that'd be the problem.
i'll just have to make a master box out of lesser boxes and seal it up... duct tape style.

thanks!
