Rusty Relics, or Avalon Hill and SPI WWII war board games
« on: September 25, 2011, 06:33:34 PM »

Ok, there is a "small" interest in having a table (or maybe two) for 70s and 80s War related board games that can be played within the normal 4 hour sessions for most Dreamation and Dexcon events.  The games I have available in playable condition are Panzer Blitz, Panzer Leader and Kriegspiel with all necessary parts, die and components (may have after production replacement pieces but still playable.

Is this consistent with the rules for being a board game "judge/oversight" for rules lawyering?  Thanks.

Let me negotiate this with the Wargaming department.  I  certainly have no objection, but I don't want to step on any toes.

Toes are in no danger.

I've been lurking on the conversation so far and was going to chime in soon. I would be happy to have these games on the schedule. We're tight for room during Dreamation so having these games in the board gaming room would be OK with me.

Pillage, then burn.

Everything is air-droppable at least once.

A soft answer turneth away wrath. Once wrath is looking the other way, shoot it in the head.

That which does not kill you has made a tactical error.

There is no "overkill".  There is only "Open Fire" and "Time to Reload!"

Yes, I expect space is an issue for both of us, but I don't have terrain to deal with.  Go ahead and make a submission, and we'll try to find a place to put you.  I love seeing the old AH stuff come out, even if I'm more a Twilight Struggle kinda girl.

Edit: Games that can handle a range of player numbers will have an edge over 2-player only, but I'll take a look at whatever you want to run, particularly if you've already gotten some interest from players.

Re: Rusty Relics, or Avalon Hill and SPI WWII war board games, Scenario 19

Ok,

I bumped into Mark at Metatopia.  Here is the overall idea for a two to six (two teams of three) playing of PanzerBlitz.  Situation 19 has three single board "mini-games" that last between 6 and 8 turns that can be played as three single games or team effort with combinations in between.

Found in appropriate copies of the General magazine from AH (just sold all my extras to Noble Knight games :P) or page 9 of the Wargamer's Guide to PanzerBlitz.  As stated in my proposal, I have more than enough copies of materials to have multiple players (the chronic problem of tables :P)

Willing to see if anyone under 50 is willing to play (willing to lower the bar to 40 since AH went out of business in 1998).

Will try two sessions at Dreamation 2012.  PanzerBlitz with only basic unit counters, but any published scenario in the PanzerBlitz Wargamers Guide that does not require special counters.
