"Cassie, would freeslide be able to photograph the layout of the nexus from its obit.  With a picture of the entirety of the nexus we could take a look at where the current power nodes and and try to triangulate where the construction side would be.  As for a terran builder, what about that one Renassonce, the one who helped Bishop Frig'em All fix the Holy Handgrenade.  And i don't know of any fantasies."

Taking a que from Yuri Jon looks over at a clock.  He thinks for a minute, counts something out on his fingures and then seems happily suprised.  He stands up and squares himself to the group.

"If you'll all just excuse me for a short time, i have a project to complete."  He turns to Yuri,"Yuri do u have any sort of device i could use to upload neural patterns a synthesised brain?"

Yuri looks at Jon, "The Nexus is far too vast, even for the Freeside. We won't need surveillance of its entirety, merely the area in question."

Yuri listens to Jon's proposal of the Terran Renaissance, "John Crichton. He's precisely who I had in mind for the Terran Genome. As for your request..."

Yuri rummages through his pockets, and comes upon a bar napkin with doodles and cyrillic writings on it. He studies it for a moment, then hands it to Jon, "More precise blueprints are in my laboratory, though the Sentience Matrix may perhaps be what you're looking for. You can borrow the blueprints, but I need the one production model that I have for the Esper Project."

Cassie opens up a panel on her arm and peers at a small screen. "There is no real way for one satellite to monitor the entirely of the Nexus.... but I can possibly find laylines, or at least probable points at which to search for such thing."

She watches something on the screen, and smirks. "She's looking for the Horsemen, is she?" Cassie lets out a mad cackle. "If you'll excuse me, I feel the sudden urge to go show off. Feel free to learn about the equipment down here as much as you desire... but if you try anything it construes as invasive, be careful. It bites." Still with the smirk on her face, it's unclear whether Cassie is joking or serious about the malicious machinery.

She hits a button on the panel, and teleports out.

Yuri nods to Cassie, "We shall begin surveilance on the target sites immediately. Until you return..." Yuri gives Cassie a nod, then waits for her to wink out.

"Doctor Stone, when you have a moment please take any availible opportunity to contact John Crichton, but try to avoid using the Nexal Bulletin Board until all other avenues have been attempted. Contact Kommidant Aiskon and see if she knows of a more efficient method of contacting Comrade Crichton, otherwise we can begin a Freeside-based search of Proper for other Avataric signatures matching his House-Wave." Yuri gives Jon a nod, "Try to keep this quiet to the rest of the Nexus, not out of secrecy and cloak and dagger, but more of a surprise. This will be our gift to the Nexus."

Yuri turns and thinks..."What would such a device be capable of? A communications hub? An information archive?" Yuri thinks on the possibilities, "Perhaps all those and more."

"Eriska?" Yuri looks at the Daughter of Steed, "I currently do not know of any of the Fantasy-Genome who possess any degree of craft on par with our needs for the Unified Circuit. In order for this to function, we need to find one. If you find one, on a degree of what we need, keep them on retainer. I shall request the same of the entirety of House Lugosi, and eventually we shall find the one missing piece."

"Doctor Stone... Eriska... Go about these tasks as you eace see fit, every resource I have at my disposal is at your beck and call."

Yuri reaches for a wall-mounted comm unit, and dials in a few key frequency deviations...

"Kommidant Aiskon..." <continued in Private Message>

Jon looks at the napkin,"No this is fine, i just need a quick download of my thought patterns into the new body i grew for myself.  Being in terminator armor all the time is tiresome.  And ask Father Frig'em All if he knows how i can contact the Renassonce.  Ok i'll check back in once i've handled a few things"

Jon walks out of Yuri's lab, a small robot following at his heals carrying the napkin.

Yuri looks at Jon, "The Nexus is far too vast, even for the Freeside. We won't need surveillance of its entirety, merely the area in question."

"It gets worse than vast," Eriska contributes. "Father and I did a lot of work on trying to map out the Nexus. We discovered that it's... well, kinda transfinite. Spacetime in the Nexus doesn't behave like one would expect. The best functional system we came up with was based on points plotted on a hypersphere, and even that a major approximation."

She puffs a stray lock of hair out of her eyes. "Best I can think of would be Sir Slick of Avalon. He's got the tools, he's got the talent, and he was on pretty good terms with Father, so I imagine he'd be amiable to helping me out. Question is if I can find him - he doesn't show up very often..."

Yuri gives Eriska his attention as she speaks, "An accurate map of the entire Nexus may very well be impossible by its very design. The Nexus seems to change based on the perceptions of the watcher, and as such may change to best suit the expectations of the mapper. Though, the areas we shall survey are already very much, for lack of any better term... concrete."

"Sir Slick? I met this person once, maybe twice in passing. If he has the means and the ability, if he would help us then that would be perfect. Idealy, it would be nice to have different Houses contribute different genomes, rather then having Cassie, Doctor Stone, and myself all represent Octagon, to truly make this unified. Though, if Comrade Crichton will assist us, that takes care of each of the dedicated Houses of craft."

Yuri counts off on his hand, then nods to Eriska, "If Crichton and Sir Slick agree... we have it."

She nods enthusiastically. "Exactly right! It's like an n-1 dimensional life-form trying to look at an n-dimensional form. Or, even simpler, a 3D-entity trying to look at a hypercube that hasn't been unfolded into a tesseract. You can only see the pseudo-random reduced-dimensional extrusions of the hyperform, not the form itself. And since the Nexus has at *least* 10 functional dimensions of spacetime - probably more, but Father never finished those equations - distances and parallaxes become transfinite according to transformational relativity. 'specially since the extra dimensions don't fold their semi-sets into the sub-quanta, as predicted by G-sub-I, J-of-t, as t approaches infinity. Even G-of-t over G-naught doesn't work in the manifold-set - since Proper is constantly viewed, its extrusions are well-known enough to be virutally static despite the vibrational constant, which blows most of the math out of the water. It's like... a semi-collapsed Shroedinger state-vector, only in more simultaneous dimensions... and backwards."

Eriska's eyes blank out - close observation shows isolinear circuit pathways tracing new networks in her irises.

"If it's variant Houses with variant Genres we need..." she mutters as she computes.

Yuri listens and follows about as much as possible, then nods, "The only true flaw in the logic is that wasn't it Erwin Schrodinger who stated that by observing something, it affects a change in the observed medium? Perhaps the very act of every avatar in the Nexus observing Proper somehow changes it... Doors leading to one place now lead elsewhere? Or do not exist from a certain point of view? The trick to rationalizing the Nexus is that since everything here is based so concretely on individual perspective, the results are literally up to the viewer. I suppose the best way to describe the Nexus, as far as observationalism goes, is to state that well, in the Kingdom of the Blind the man with one eye is king."

Eriska's eyes blank out - close observation shows isolinear circuit pathways tracing new networks in her irises.

Yuri pulls out a small hand-pad and a pen. Observant viewers will note that the pad's cover has the archaic sigil of the KGB upon it. Yuri jots down the six Genres, then jots down some names:

- Terran: Jon Crichton (Renaissance)
- Technologic: Cassie McCullen (Octagon)
- Gothic: Yuri (Octagon)
- Fantasy: Sir Slick (Avalon)
- Supers: Jon Stone (Octagon)
- Toonic / Zany: Cardinal Frig'em'all (Lugosi)

"There may be a few other choices, and the more avatars we can have contributing to the project, the better the end result..." Yuri notices Eriska's current status, and prepares to write down as she speaks...

"Well, the Shroedinger analogy is a loose approximation, like just about any other simplified way of explaining it."

"Pretty much, yeah.

Her eyes go back to normal. "Sorry. I was hoping that Father's Signature Database was still linked into my program. That would have made a cross-reference to get the most diverse pool of Houses and Genres easy. Unfortunately, I don't have that database."

If the local reality allows for it, a paper airplane lands amidst those Octagon still present.  It would appear, upon inspection, to be folded from an 8.5"x11" sheet of college ruled paper (no holes or fringe) into a fairly standard blunted-nose glider design.

If the local reality does not allow for it, then nothing happens.  Nothing at all.

[ooc: The local reality does not allow for a paper airplane to fly into a house, down an elevator, and into a server room. It will, however, allow for it to come in through the front window and land on the kitchen table for reading later :)]

The com link in the lab begins to beep. If answered a familiar voice says, "OK I have finished my investigation of the explosion in proper and have determined it is not a threat, (and no fun either). If i may I would like to be transported there now to talk."

Yuri turns to the others, "I shall be in my laboratory should anyone need me." and Yuri enters the elevator and ascends to the level with his laboratory on it, answering his communicator as he heads there, "Comrade Frig'em'all, I apologize for the pause but there was something that required my attention. Now that it has been dealt with, I'm configuring the translocator now." and Yuri will configure the Gunsmoke Translocator Unit to bring Cardinal Frig'em'all to his laboratory.

A bright light errupts out in the dessolate wasteland that is Gunsmoke.  As the light fades Jon Stone emerges.  A Servo-skull floats next to his head bobbing up and down slightly, a low "whhooowhhh" noise eminating from it every so often.

Jon strides towards a small house sitting just a short ways off.  He enters the house and goes to grab a drink.  Noticing the paper airplane on the table he nods towards it.  His Servo-skull floats over.  A small claw unfolds from below the skulls jaw and picks up the airplane.  Another small claw will unfold from next to the first one and slowly unfold the paper, afterwards he'll carry it over to Jon Stone.

Jon walks over the elevator and pushes the button for it to come to him.  As he waits he begins examining the paper airplane.
