[Aiskon]

The red bird starts to talk in a deep almost bored tone, "You throw it up in the air, and think of Refuge. The gate will unfold, and you step/fly hop or whatever through it.  You will arrive in one of the docking bay's of the Atalanti Fleetdoc Refuge; Aiskon's Domain.
"If you wish to go there, just know," and he chitters, "Toons seem to become a bit more solid there."

[Frigemall]

"A bit more solid? I got shifted back to my other!" Cardinal Frig'emall shudders in spite of himself.

[Yuri_Prime]

Yuri looks at the diminutive Cardinal and puts a steady hand on his shoulder, "Courage, my friend. You have been through worse, and you would not go through it alone."

Yuri waits for a beat, then continues, "From the moment we met, until the moment the Nexus unravels itself, whatever fates you face, old friend, are fates that we face together."

[Frigemall]

"Thanks Yuri, I am just not fond of these places where toons don't exist. I love Aiskon like a sister, but I am not fond of her Domain."

[Yuri_Prime]

Yuri looks back to his wall of pictures and photographs, "Once I rediscover the Soviet Union in this Nexus... none shall ever be barred at the gates. All shall be welcome."

Esper perks up, and gives an inquisitive *mrow*... her voice a song of telepathic curiosity and wonder, "What will it be like, Father?"

Yuri smiles, and motions fully to the pictures and portraits, "The Soviet Union as I left it was a wonderous place of fantastic discovery and a wealth of history. By the time I was removed from the timestream and sent here, the Allied forces were well on the way to defeat, and the Soviet Union's victory was all but inevitable. Our forces had several strongholds within the continental United States, and I had ordered Einstein's laboratory to be the target of the next availible nuclear strike, regardless of the mission's status. With their primary research centers destroyed, and the construction of the Dominator units, things were bound to quiet down."

Yuri clears his throat, and continues, "And that, my friends, is the Soviet Union that I seek. Peace, fellowship, and brotherhood. Her people happy, her borders protected, and her enemies few and far between. A Soviet Union fit for the Syndicate, a place of secrecy and solice, where her military might is on display, for the world to challenge, and her citizens at the ready to take up arms to defend her... to the death, if need be."

Yuri walks over to Esper, still on Eriska's shoulder, still admiring the beautiful painting in the hologram's possession, and gives the bioform's chin a scritch, "That is home, dear Esper. Home for all fathers... " he looks at Eriska, "And all their sons and daughters."

[Aiskon]

The small red bird chirps in, "Well, The way of the world - and or Domain is in the mind of the one who rules.  The Captain is still studying the aspects of toons.  Once she 'groks' them, their very nature will most likely not be affected by the Domain.

"It is a matter of information.  As she studies the nature of energy in the Nexus, and begins to understand Zany, the concept of it will begin to form in Refuge."

"I am the information gatherer for Captain Aiskon.  I notice everything"


And it flitted up away from Yuri's shoulder, "Thank you for the rest away from the others." it said to the Avatars present.  "I must return to Refuge.  My power is getting low.  Please come up and visit."

[Yuri_Prime]

Yuri will nod to the clockwork avian, "Please inform Aiskon that any informaion that I encounter will be at her disposal, and should any matters of the mind confound her, that I am an expert on sentience and mentality." Yuri configures a few sequences on the Translocator, "I'll send you back to Proper, from there you should be able to find your way home, yes?"

Yuri will wait for the phoenix to confirm the transport, and then will activate the translocator, sending the avian to Proper, away from any gatherings of Avatars. Should the avian refuse, Yuri will certainly recover from the shock of denial...

"And now if you will excuse me comrades... I do believe it is time I get to business." With that Yuri will say his farewells to the gathering in his laboratory. He will give Cardinal Frig'em'all a firm handshake and a nod, and will do the same with John Stone. For Eriska, he will take her hand and give a quick nod, then turn with a styled flourish to the controls to the Translocator, and in a puff of blue smoke and a flash of light, the Soviet Esper is gone...

[Dr. Steed]

(OOC: Catching up...)

The Painting:
Eriska skritches Esper behind the ears. "They're happy tears, hon," she assures the cat. "It's a picture of... well... a time when Father and I were together, and we were happy." She points to the redhead in the audience. "And that's Cousin Cody there... making sure things are OK." She gets a somewhat dreamy look in her eyes. "And reminding me that things could be OK again..." She hugs the holographic cat - though Esper senses that it's more for Eriska herself than for her simulated sister.

She turns to Yuri. "Is it OK if I leave this here until I get access to Nuova One again?" she asks, demurely. "I don't want anything to happen to this picture and..." she looks around, "...it'd be safe here."


The Gate Sphere:
She accepts the sphere that Yuri hands her... somewhat reverently. "Aiskon once gave one of these to Father," she notes. The sphere disappears into one of her pockets. She addresses the phoenix. "Thank you. And please tell the Captain... that I'm sorry for what I said to her."


The Union:
Yuri gives his thoughts on the supreme Soviet ideal and takes Eriska's hand in parting. Eriska surprises him by hugging him. "Home is where the heart is, Comrade Yuri." She backs off and, still holding his hand, looks him in the eye.

"Don't pursue the mind so much that you forget the heart..."

[Yuri_Prime]

The synthetic felinoid, Esper, will listen along as Eriska explains the painting, and when hugged, will understand and sympathize, "Things will be Ok again. Probably not right away, but that'll just make it all the better once things are OK again. Warm soup isn't half as good when it isn't cold outside."

Prior to his departure, Yuri will be hugged by Eriska, and will return the sentiment, Eriska hugging him does indeed somewhat surprise the Soviet, but years of training have taught him to somewhat hide it well. "You may of course keep the painting here, Eriska, and I shall protect it as though it were one of my own."

As she informs him not to forsake his heart in favor of the mind, Yuri has a thoughtful look on his face, as though considering options that never were really brought to mind. As the translocator comes online, Yuri will address Eriska, "Home is indeed where you need it to be, Eriska. As for the heart..." Yuri will put his free hand to his heart, then overtop of Eriska's hand, "I cannot forsake it, so long as I have such a loving family. My heart is for my people, and my family." He will smile as the translocator effect hums to life, and then will fade from view, his hand in Eriska's the last thing to dematerialize.

[Dr. Steed]

Eriska looks at Esper, the painting, Esper, Yuri, the painting, the vanishing Yuri, and then her own feet. Dumbfounded. She obviously inhereted a lot from her father - being floored by emotion, for instance.

"I think I need soup," she eventually says to the cat.

[Yuri_Prime]

Esper will giggle in the sort of way that only an adorable kitty cat birthed from the perversion of nature at the eager hands of boundless science can giggle. "I think there's some in the kitchen upstairs."
