Ted, what about Trackmania Nations? A little competitive racing fun on surreal race tracks could make for a decent tournament.
I'm 80%-90% sure that unlinke my other suggestion, Rakion, it has LAN capabilities and is not strictly internet.
Agreed, however I am leary of installing a title on the StarForce list. The good news about it is that most of the titles on the list only cover Euro releases, and not US ones. I am looking into it. [EDIT] The US version uses StarForce

This may seem like a silly question that I already know the answer to, but...
Any interest in having Mark of Chaos on the LAN?

Meh, I anxiously picked up my copy of Mark of Chaos as soon as it came in, and have been horribly dissapointed. Good or bad aside, the game is nothing like what they said it would be. Just a pretty vanilla RTS

Crashday added to the install list! http://www.atari.com/crashday/This will not supplant FlatOut 2. It has a more serious relationship with the laws of physics, and a really cool campaign / customization system

I'm new here (and coming to the con this weekend) so I'll throw this line in and see who bites..... Dangerous Waters Submarine simulation released a couple years ago. You can play in teams (multiplayer/multistation mode). It is a niche game but makes for a fun couple of hours if you are into navy games. http://www.scs-dangerouswaters.com/(this is a suggestion for future consideration of course considering today's date)

One of the first games i purchased was 688 Attack Sub by Electronic Arts (anyone else remember that one?) The LAN won't be at the event, but I will I'll give it a try over the weekend, look for the tall skinny guy with the rolling laptop case

I used to play 688/I Hunter/Killer by Jane's and I recently picked up Silent Hunter 4....Of course it didnt work on my computer....It looks like an awesome WW2 Sub-Sim with multilayer to boot...I would lend you a copy for you to try out but I am not coming to the con this weekend.
