DDO?
« on: March 17, 2006, 05:26:32 PM »

Anyone else play?

I'm on Aundair, as Hallat.

Sadly, I don't know much about Eberron so can't say how authentic it is to the setting. The spell points and lots of casting seems different from standard.

I play a ranger named Aarnon on the Fernia server.
Excellent game overall.
Sometimes its difficult to find a group to quest with, but now that all the kiddies are losing interest because it is not possible to "camp" a spawn, and "ninja looting" is nigh to impossible, I think it will continue to improve.
Yes, those were two of the many reasons I left evercrack years ago.

As to how close to Eberron it is, I think I'd have to say "pretty close".
They massively and extremely nerfed the Warforged, but I can understand why.
And the spell casting would not even remotely remind anyone of D&D.
They way they do stats is definitely D&D, and their levelling system is similar in many ways.

In other words, "Its not your daddys D&D" But IMHO worth checking out.

Do they have a trial version/period?  I'd like to try it, but I don't like putting down money/credit card info and then deciding I'm not into it.
