Blocking access to Mindcraft

I work with someone who wants to block access to the game to keep his 9-year old son off of it. Can anyone suggest a way to do so? He tried port blocking but for reasons I don't know his router wouldn't allow the port to be blocked.

Use a firewall to prevent access to the internet
